[NEWS] 120206 Kim Jaejoong Surprised by Turkish Fan

Earlier we reported that JYJ member Kim Jaejoong headed to Turkey for an individual fan meeting. A photo from the fan meeting has now been published, in which Kim Jaejoong and a Turkish fan are seen bowing to each other.

On February 5th, Kim Jaejoong held a fan meeting at an auditorium in Ankara University in Turkey, when he was pleasantly surprised by an event involving a fan. A fan appeared on stage and, as a token of thanks to Jaejoong, made a deep bow. Following suit, Jaejoong then also bowed to his fan. At that time, the fans in attendance took photos and videos, and by their word of mouth, the media went viral on their country’s internet portal site message boards. Although Jaejoong appears on the one hand to be a bit flustered and embarrassed, fans commented that on the other hand he dealt with the situation rather cutely.

This fan meeting with Jaejoong was an invitation for Korean culture into Turkey. In 2005, after airing Korean dramas on the state-operated TV in Turkey, fan clubs of ‘Korea fans’ were formed, and a fan base of around 40,000 continues to grow wildly. Jaejoong wished to show his gratitude towards fans of the hallyu wave through this fan meeting event.

Prior to his Turkey fan meeting, Jaejoong had written a post on his Twitter,

“Turkish people definitely have a lot of similarities to Korean people.. It is certainly a great place~ Looking forward to the days ahead~”

  1. i thought that it’s only JYJ fanmeeting which only Jaeoong who can came coz his brothers get busy with their activities and in that FM only JYJ fans but why Kmedia always state fans of hallyu wave…halyuu wave again ?
correct me if i get wrong about that

      • i know the Video here’s the link

mute the volume cause the sound is freaking demonic either that or a glitch in the audio or my laptop goes possessed at that video and complains in some alien language

at 4:36 she kisses him she’s the girl in the red jacket

        a mystery show : first episode :
        ” who’s the girl in the red jacket ? ” : P

      • @Pierrot
That fan had the guts to steal a kiss on Jae, and of course Jae was a gentleman. But is this really Turkish traditional greeting? I read somewhere that is.
Got to go to work now…geeez
I’ll miss everyone here in JYJ3 again.
        Have a great day everyone!

    • a kiss on the cheek is something traditional/common for Eastern Europe and the Middle East. I can assure you Turkish fans will applaud this woman for being brave enough to greet him the proper way and, of course, as all of us, envy her a bit…

      • I am not familar with the Turkish people traditions. But when I saw this video I immediately thought she did it because it is part of their tradition. The way she did it, it looks like that type of kiss. Either way she was one lucky girl to get to kiss him on his cheek, LOL!!!!!!!!!!

  2. So she is not Korean? Aww, if that is the case i can understand Jae feeling flustered and embarrassed. Kudos to the fan who is paying respect to uri Jae, the Korean way.( by the way isnt that how Korean paying respect to the elders in the family?). This is more meaningful than the greeting the Turkish way. LOL, at least no one held her back 🙂

  3. Oh my.. The Korean dramas in 2005 were aired in Iraq.. They were translated to the Kurdisch language. But well, I’m used to it .

Anyway, I respect Jaejoong and Turkisch fans a lot. I glad they had a great time. Fighting~

  4. jae seems deeply amused 🙂 so great the fan did something different that grabbed his attention. i wonder if she pulled this off with a 100% serious face cause there is no way I would be able to do that or be anywhere near him without a goofy smile on my face. he will definitely remember this for awhile.
